Data deletion

This page explains how to delete your Oddlynew account and your data, and how to ask us to delete data we received from Meta or Google through a connected Instagram login or YouTube channel. Questions go to office@oddlynew.com.

Deleting your account

Write to office@oddlynew.com from your account's email address and ask us to delete your account. Oddlynew has no button for this yet. We delete your account and reply within one month at the latest, telling you what we deleted. The connections you made for an organization are disconnected, and we delete their data within seven days after we have verified your request, apart from the proof of consent described below. If such a connection's account belongs to the organization, such as a company mailbox, the connection stays with the organization: within the same seven days we only remove you from it, so it no longer names you as the person who connected it. The organization's administrators confirm to us which accounts belong to it.

Documents you created in an organization belong to that organization and stay there. Billing and usage records and security records are also kept for the periods stated in the privacy notice.

Deleting an organization

An administrator can delete their organization, currently through an AI agent connected to Oddlynew and not yet in the web app. From that moment the organization is locked and its published content can no longer be reached. After 30 days it is removed for good; until then an administrator can cancel the deletion. If you have no agent connected, write to office@oddlynew.com. When the organization is removed, its connected Instagram accounts and YouTube channels are disconnected, and their data is deleted as explained below.

Deleting single documents

A deleted document stays in the trash for 30 days and is then deleted for good. Until then it can be restored.

Data from Instagram

When an organization connects an Instagram account, we receive an access token from Meta's Instagram interface, together with the account's id and username. We fetch posts, insights and comments when a member or their agent asks for them; we do not store them as documents or files unless someone writes them into a document. When a comment is hidden at once, we store no result. We delete the result of another action that runs at once, such as a comment an administrator set to post without confirmation, after 30 days. Actions that wait for confirmation, such as publishing a comment, we keep with their text and result until the account is disconnected or we delete them on your request (step 3).

To delete this data:

  1. An administrator of the organization disconnects the account: under Organization, Integrations, choose "Disconnect" in the connection's menu. This deletes the access token at once, and Oddlynew can no longer reach the Instagram account. Within seven days we delete everything else we stored about the account, except the proof of consent described below.

  2. You can also remove Oddlynew's access in the settings of your Instagram app. This ends our access but deletes nothing in Oddlynew: the data stays until an administrator disconnects the account or we delete it on your request (step 3).

  3. If you made the connection or the account is yours, and you cannot disconnect it, for example because you are not a member of the organization, ask us to erase your data under your rights (section 16 of the privacy notice): write to office@oddlynew.com and name the Instagram account's username. We then delete the data you ask us to delete. Unless you limit your request to certain data, that is everything we hold about you, including, if the account is yours, its id, its username and the kept actions. If you made the connection, write from your Oddlynew account's email address. If the account is yours, you show this by putting a short code we send you into the account's bio. We delete the account's data within seven days after we have verified your request. We delete everything else within one month of your request, apart from what we keep longer, as the section on deleting your account above explains. If the account is still connected, we disconnect it first. Of what we stored about the account, we keep only the proof of consent: who connected the account, when, which consent text was shown, and the connection's access level and settings, without the account's id or username. We keep it for at most three years after the disconnect. If you made the connection but the account belongs to the organization, the connection instead stays with the organization, and within the same seven days we only remove you from it: it no longer names you as the person who connected it, and its proof of consent no longer says who connected the account. The organization's administrators confirm to us which accounts belong to it. We confirm the deletion by email.

Data from YouTube

When an organization connects a YouTube channel, we receive access tokens from Google, together with the channel's id and name. We fetch the channel's details, videos, statistics, analytics reports and comments when a member or their agent asks for them; we do not store them as documents or files unless someone writes them into a document. Actions on the channel, such as publishing a comment, wait for confirmation by default. Actions that wait for confirmation we keep with their text and result until the channel is disconnected or we delete them on your request (step 3). If an administrator lets comments post without confirmation, we delete their results after 30 days.

To delete this data:

  1. An administrator of the organization disconnects the channel: under Organization, Integrations, choose "Disconnect" in the connection's menu. This deletes the access tokens at once, and Oddlynew can no longer reach the channel. We also ask Google to revoke Oddlynew's access, unless the same channel is still connected in another organization in Oddlynew or was connected through the older Google sign-in that Oddlynew also uses for other Google services. Within seven days we delete everything else we stored about the channel, except the proof of consent described below.

  2. You can also revoke Oddlynew's access in your Google account's security settings at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. If nobody reconnects the channel, we then disconnect it and delete its data at most 30 days after the revocation.

  3. If you made the connection or the channel is yours, and you cannot disconnect it, for example because you are not a member of the organization, ask us to erase your data under your rights (section 16 of the privacy notice): write to office@oddlynew.com and name the channel. We then delete the data you ask us to delete. Unless you limit your request to certain data, that is everything we hold about you, including, if the channel is yours, its id, its name and the kept actions. If you made the connection, write from your Oddlynew account's email address. If the channel is yours, you show this by putting a short code we send you into the channel's description. We delete the channel's data within seven days after we have verified your request. We delete everything else within one month of your request, apart from what we keep longer, as the section on deleting your account above explains. If the channel is still connected, we disconnect it first. Of what we stored about the channel, we keep only the proof of consent: who connected the channel, when, which consent text was shown, and the connection's access level and settings, without the channel's id or name. We keep it for at most three years after the disconnect. If you made the connection but the channel belongs to the organization, the connection instead stays with the organization, and within the same seven days we only remove you from it: it no longer names you as the person who connected it, and its proof of consent no longer says who connected the channel. The organization's administrators confirm to us which channels belong to it. We confirm the deletion by email. Deleting data in Oddlynew does not delete anything on YouTube. To delete data on YouTube, use YouTube itself.
