Ownership, portability, deletion, and retention
This page states the current product boundary without inventing legal or operational guarantees. Contractual ownership, licensing, retention, deletion, backup, continuity, and post-payment rights belong in approved terms and agreements when those are published.
Where work belongs
Every Oddlynew document belongs to exactly one organization. The organization's membership and visibility determine its audience. Nothing crosses into another organization implicitly. A reference may target a document in another organization, and what travels is the reference itself, its target identity, version, and drift state, which every reader of the citing document sees, while the target's content stays gated to readers of the target's organization.
An authorized agent can copy an eligible clean document into another organization through an explicit two-step operation. The result is an independent snapshot. Files the document references, such as images, are copied with it into the destination organization. It carries no shared history, synchronization, membership, access rules, backlinks, comments, or ongoing relationship to the source.
Portability and export
Oddlynew does not currently offer a supported complete organization-export contract. Authorized clients can list and read accessible documents through the current agent surface, and eligible documents can be copied individually across organizations, but those capabilities do not guarantee a complete, atomic, self-contained, or restorable export.
Do not choose Oddlynew as the sole archive when your requirements depend on a verified export format, independent backup, bulk restoration, or continuity after a commercial or account change. Maintain whatever independent records your own obligations require.
Deletion
The current document deletion operation is a soft deletion. It removes the document from ordinary active use, but it is not a promise of immediate permanent erasure from every live, historical, backup, derived, or operational representation.
Documents can be archived out of the default retrieval set and restored later. A deleted document moves to the trash and can be restored for 30 days; after that its content is removed for good. An organization administrator can delete a whole organization through the agent surface (organizations.planOrganizationDeletion, then organizations.applyOrganizationDeletion); the deletion can be cancelled while it is pending, and the organization is removed for good after 30 days. To delete your account, write to office@oddlynew.com; there is no self-service account deletion. Billing and usage records and security records are kept for their own periods (section 14 of the privacy notice).
Retention and historical state
Live edits become durable through Oddlynew's document system, and saved versions are written asynchronously. Members can list a document's versions, read any listed version, compare two versions and follow one block through them (How do I see a document's earlier versions?). No operation restores a whole document to an earlier version, and there is no retention-policy interface for document history.
No universal retention period, backup duration, recovery point, recovery time, or preservation-after-payment promise is made here. These require explicit operational and contractual commitments.
Ownership and licensing
Oddlynew never trains models on your data, never looks into your private organizations and never sells your data; the only exception is what the law requires (Your data is yours). Legal ownership, license rights, intellectual-property treatment and rights after account closure are set by the applicable terms and agreements, not by the technical fact that a document belongs to an organization.
What happens if payment or access changes
The public commercial terms do not yet define the effects of cancellation, failed payment, downgrade, account closure, or organization removal. Do not assume continued access, immediate deletion, indefinite retention, or a free export window.
Before placing irreplaceable, regulated, or contractually controlled material into Oddlynew, confirm that the applicable terms, agreements, export path, deletion path, and retention commitments meet your requirements. If they are not explicitly available, treat them as unresolved rather than implied.
